Hi everyone,
I want to give you a different format today for Julian’s Note to usher in the Fellowship. Notes of Rest turned two back in July, and I am thankful that this little toddler of a brainchild is starting to move around and explore. This video explains more of what you can get on the Fellowship. Hope you dig.

In other news, my Circle of Trust show this last Wednesday was special. I am thankful the music and message were well-received. Towards the end of my set I had people hold their hands in a circle and look at it. This represented their circle of trust. Who is on your circle? Who once was but no longer is? Is God there? Your pet? Your future self? I had the people give thanks for the people on their circle, and then think about how they sit on other peoples’ circles. Sadly, our society often wallows in the decline in trust we are experiencing in our homes, in religious life, in civic life. Our music is often a container for that despair. My counter vision is to use my words and music as a means of encouraging and growing that trust. Trust is integral to wholeness.
Now I invite you to hold your hands and look at your circle of trust. Maybe your circle is very small. Maybe it is very wide. Maybe you have multiple circles. Whatever the size or quantity, I pray that you at least have a circle. If you do not, I hear you. If your circle is no more, I am praying that you might see God on your circle, and that my music and these posts can remind you that you’re never truly alone.
Psalm 138: 8-12
Where can I go from your spirit?
Or where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I ascend to heaven, you are there;
if I make my bed in Sheol, you are there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning
and settle at the farthest limits of the sea,
10 even there your hand shall lead me,
and your right hand shall hold me fast.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me,
and night wraps itself around me,”
12 even the darkness is not dark to you;
the night is as bright as the day,
for darkness is as light to you.
abundantly,
Julian
