Hi everyone,
I am excited to announce that I now have my own personal ensemble called Circle of Trust! For those of you who have been following my journey, you have seen that I have created in many capacities - a co-founder of The JuJu Exchange, a member of Isaiah Collier & The Chosen Few, and my own spiritual formation ministry, Notes of Rest. These have been vital to my development, and I love where they are all going. But in addition, I am excited to play more of my own compositions, which is why Circle of Trust has started.
I call the project Circle of Trust because trust is sorely needed in our society and music can help us get there. With the advent of AI and the crumbling reputation of longstanding institutions like the Church and political leaders, we are experiencing an erosion of trust. So it is incumbent to keep practicing trust. Music is one of those places to practice it. Whether listener or performer, you can practice trusting the sounds and the people making them. When we think about music this way, we can transfer that spirit of trust from music to our circles of trust wherever we find them (God, our neighbors, ourselves, our families).
Joining the Circle of Trust with me today (Friday) is Micah Collier on bass and Wes Julien on drums. I have had the joy of working with both of these guys at my church Renewal Church of Chicago for the last year. They are brothas of faith, joy, and diligence. Stay tuned.
abundantly,
Julian
