I feel this! When I spend time with my grandmother in rural NC, I often get to witness and/or participate in binding moments in her local church and it is truly reviving. In my work, it's also helping me to understand the blindspots (and potentially limits) of place-based policies trying to "create" "cohesive" communities absent this understanding of binding fast. Beautiful insights, Jasmine. Thanks for sharing. I'm glad that yo feel revived by your grandmother's witness. I love seeing how she's impact you. I pray she is made aware of that often! What you're speaking too is a kind of impact that the elders can have and yet I have often not told them thank you for their witness. I take it for granted. You saying this makes me realize there's more I can share as encouragement. In that way I too bind fast.
